S.U.P (Stand Up Paddleboard) is a great exercise and a nature experience that suits most people, both younger and older. Depending on the weather conditions, we either paddle in a bay and along the beach or a trip to the other side of the lake. SUP is a safe activity that everyone can learn.

The course is divided into three parts. The first part is on the beach where we look and learn about the equipment, safety and general information about SUP. The second part are on the water. You will learn how to keep the right position and balance, how to paddle and different paddling techniques, how to turn with a few different techniques. We will also do some stretching before we pick up the equipment. Among other things, we will go through the following:

  • Paddle Techniques
  • Paddle Positions on the board
  • Techniques for turning
  • Safety on the board

Who is Stand Up Paddleboard for?

Stand Up Paddleboard on Lake Åresjön is an easy and accessible adventure for guests in Åre who would like to learn something new, experience great natur and at the same time get a good work out.

No previous experience is needed and all equipment is included.

What will I experience?

A basic course in Stand Up Paddle boarding, where you will learn different paddling techniques, safety instructions and our aim is that you will feel safe to go go out on a board yourself after the course. You will also experience the beatuiful nature along the shore of lake Åresjön..

Where do we start?

At "Seglarklubbens brygga" in lake Åresjön, close to the bridge between Coop and Holiday Club, as shown on the map to the right.

By car, taxi, bike or by foot.

How long will it take?

1,5 hours

Any minimum age or length?

Rekommended from 10-12 years of age and able to swim.

What do I have to bring?

Swim wear or clothes that can get wet and a towel. If it´s a warm day something to drink is recommended.

Is there other things I need to know?

You can borrow wetsuit and life jacket if you want.
