Moose Safari in Åre

Activities by Åre Nature Adventures is best experienced in small groups, with high personal service and with high flexibility (we rarely take more than 8 people on a tour). Activity description:

Join us for an exciting evening in the Swedish wilderness where we go searching for the wild moose in its natural environment. We pick you up with our minivan at your hotel and take you for an adventure in the outback surroundings of Åre. We will drive along some roads with spectacular views over the landscape and also on small dirt roads that leads to our favorite places where we often see the moose (on these small dirt roads it is not uncommon the we come very close to this big animals).

Along the tour our guide will tell you facts about the moose, at some places we stop the minivan take a short walk with binoculars in our hands to search and cover areas from viewpoints that can´t be reached from the bus. Of course we have a lovely “Swedish fika” (coffee and snacks) at some nice place and for those who dare, also taste moose-meat…

From the minivan we can mostly keep a respectful distance to the animals (they often keep on eating as usual when the engine keeps going, so after a while we leave them without disturbing them) but if we will have good chance at the right spot, we will try to get out of the minivan and sneak up to the animals a little closer to have a better chance for great photos.

What will I experience?

Moose Safari with good chances to see wild moose in it´s natural environment. Pick Up with minivan, "Swedish fika" and some stop along the roads where we get out of the minivan try to spot moose outside the minivan.

Where do we start?

We pick you up at the Hotel Holiday Club (30 min before) or at the Hotel Copperhill Mountain Lodge (15 min before) the tour starts.

How to get there?

With our minibus that pick you up at your hotel. (Choose pick up point when confirm the booking).

How long will it take?

Approx 3,5-4 hours included time for transport.

Any minimum age or length?

We recommend this tour from 8 years 

What do I have to bring?

Walking shoes, clothes for weather and a camera.

Is there other things I need to know?

We leave no guarantee to see a moose on the tour, but we give you the absolutely best odds to see one.
